How to Use Heatmaps on a Cam Affiliate Landing Page

Posted on November 4, 2026

Use click and scroll maps to find mobile layout problems, then check whether the fix helps qualified referrals.

Start with a question about one page

Your cam comparison page gets visits, but readers rarely reach the platform links. Before moving every button, ask one question. Can readers on phones see and use the first comparison link? Separate mobile and desktop views so a usable desktop layout doesn’t hide a mobile problem.

Read the map in context

CrakRevenue’s resource list names Hotjar. Its current documentation sits under Contentsquare and describes heatmaps for interactions such as clicks and scrolling. A scroll map helps you see where the tracked sample stopped. A click map can show people tapping a heading or image that looks clickable. Open the page on a phone at the same size and check what a reader actually sees. An affiliate widget inside an iframe may not expose its internal clicks to the heatmap on the parent page.

Limit collection to what you need

Use the tool on a public landing page you control, after checking the vendor’s rules for the page and your consent setup. Exclude login, payment, private chat and account screens. Set up masking before collecting and inspect a test session for details you did not intend to capture. The vendor’s suppression guide says changing those settings later does not apply them to previously collected data.

Measure the outcome in the affiliate report

If readers repeatedly tap a non-clickable card, give it a clear link or change the design so it stops looking clickable. Use a separate placement label and compare outbound clicks and credited results with the baseline. A busier heatmap can mean the page is easier to use. The network report tells you whether those clicks produced the result the offer pays for.
