What Should Your Chaturbate Directory Show When a Room Goes Offline?

When a room goes offline, take down the live player and badge. Give the visitor a link back to your directory so they can find another room.

Check permission before embedding

Chaturbate affiliates have access to tools such as Embed Cam, Cam Listing, and Users Online. Confirm eligibility for the tool and where you plan to use it. Public access to a room gives you no embed permission on its own. Chaturbate limits affiliate live material to promoting broadcasters who are online and broadcasting. Promo Tools · Affiliate terms.

Handle three room states

• Confirmed live. Show the provider-generated player where your placement permits it.
• Confirmed offline. Remove the player and live badge. Show “This room is offline” and a link back to the directory.
• Status unknown or stale. Remove the player and live badge. Show “Live status is temporarily unavailable” and the same link. A failed request or a missing result from a filtered list can leave the room status unknown.

Use text for the fallback. Keep saved frames and clips from the stream out of it.

Test it on a phone

On an authorized placement, leave the page open as a test room goes offline. Check that the player disappears, the fallback is readable, and the directory link works. Repeat with a failed status lookup and reload the page to check that stale data doesn’t bring the player back.
